Diana Morrison’s acceptance speach

Diana Morrison, President of Advertising Specialty Services is honored to serve as the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce Board Chair 2009.  Tuesday, December 9, she stood in front of collegues, friends, family and peers and accepted her position as Chair.  She was inducted into the position by 2008 Chair, Steve Green.  Steve’s services were acknowledged with a gavel plaque and award clock.

Diana Morrison 2009 Savannah Chamber Board Chair

Small businesses make up 80 percent of the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce’s membership, and a small-business owner will be its leader in 2009.

Diana Morrison, founder and president of Advertising Specialty Services, took the reins at the chamber’s 202nd annual meeting Tuesday at the Savannah Marriott Riverfront.

Morrison is the third woman and one of only a few small-business owners to hold the position.

“I feel very thrilled and empowered by the opportunity to stand with the chamber to help businesses in Savannah to grow and prosper,” she said.

One of her top priorities is for small businesses to become more involved in chamber activities.

“There is strength in numbers, and if we stand together and strive for what our membership and community need, we can’t falter,” she said.
